Sievert and Summers Earn D3baseball.com Team of the Week Honors

Dillon Sievert and Luke Summers were both named to the D3baseball.com Team of the Week. The SLIAC duo were two of just 13 players to earn the national recognition. The Team of the Week is D3baseball.com's national weekly honor roll recognizing the top performers at each of nine positions from the previous week.

Dillon Sievert, a senior with Spalding University, opened the 2019 season with a leadoff home run in the season opener against #2-ranked UW-Whitewater and went on to bat .417 for the week tallying six runs, two stolen bases, and two RBIs. Sievert, the native of Louisville, Ky., also earned a win on the mound against the Warhawks, going 6 2/3 innings allowing two runs on five hits while striking out three.

Luke Summers, a St. Louis, Mo., native, had a standout performance in the Fontbonne Griffins season-opening win over Greenville. The hurler went 8.0 innings and struck out a career-high 15 batters. He also sat down 16 straight from the end of the second till the eighth inning.
