Spalding Advances to Championship Game

Spalding University found their offense on Saturday, defeating Greenville University 9-0 to advance to Sunday's SLIAC Baseball Championship. Spalding, who had the league's top offense this season, had totaled just four runs in their first two games of the SLIAC Tournament; a season-low for back-to-back games. But facing elimination the top-seeded Golden Eagles busted out for nine runs to advance to the championship game for the first time since 2013. Spalding will now face Webster University on Sunday for the 2019 SLIAC Baseball Championship. Games are set for an 11 a.m. start at SIUE with the if necessary game being played immediately after the conclusion of the first game.

Four different Golden Eagles recorded multiple hits in the game.
