Blackburn Tops Pair of SLIAC Teams In Greenville's First Meet
The Blackburn College golf squad topped a pair of St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference members over the weekend in the first ever meet hosted by first-year program Greenville College. Blackburn finished first in a field of four teams that included conference members MacMurray College and Greenville College.
Blackburn shot a team score of 308 in the one day meet held at Indian Springs Golf Course in Fillmore, Illinois. The Beavers, playing in their first outing of the year, showed a marked improvement from last year; lowering their team score by 13 strokes over last year's low round. The Beavers had the top three individual finishers with Kyle Kesinger leading the way with a 74, claiming the top individual spot. Trenton Easely and Jordan McMillen each shot a 76 to tie for second overall.
MacMurray College finished third in the field with a team score of 349 and were led by Zach Koonce with an 80. Greenville College finished fourth with a team score of 431 and were led by Ransom Cochrame's 104. Illinois College also competed in the event, claiming second place with a 314.
