Irwin Places Second For Spalding

The Spalding Golden Eagle men's golf team placed 10th at the Mount St. Joseph Spring Invite this weekend at Ashton Oak G.C. in North Bend, Ohio.

Anthony Irwin had an outstanding showing, leading the Golden Eagles with a second place finish in the individual standings with a two-day score of 78-72=150.  Irwin finished the first day tied ninth after carding a 6-over 78, but climbed the leaderboard on the final day firing an even-par 72 to take second of 89 golfers.
 
Zac Herfel also had a good showing for the weekend finishing tied for 23rd with a final score of 86-76=162.

Kristopher Johnson, and Gray Gupton both finished respectively, Johnson with a score of 89+93=182, and Gupton shooting a 100+84=184 for the weekend.
 
The Golden Eagles compete again April 2-3 in St. Louis, Mo., at the Gorlok Spring Invitational.
