Diez Dorta Claims Top Finish

Iowa Wesleyan hosted the IW Tiger Classic at the Sheaffer Memorial Golf Course yesterday. The Tiger Women finished 5th out of 8 with one medaling, while the Tiger Men finished 6th out of 10.

For the Tiger Women, Teresa Diez Dorta (FR/Santa Cruz de Tenerife, Spain) finished her round with a score of 77, which had Diez Dorta taking home first place in the tournament. Other top performers for IW were Claire Hanson (SO/Elgin, IA) with a 102, and Allie Massner (SR/Mediapolis, IA) with a 107.

For the Tiger Men, Camron Mack (SR/Kahoka, MO) was the best performing Tiger. He finished his round with a score of 78, which tied him at 11th with two others. Jeff Cox (JR/Mount Pleasant, IA) was right behind Mack with a score of 82 and Jake Neubauer (SR/Amana, IA) finished with an 88.

Coach Moon was very proud of how his teams performed especially due to the recent rain, which turned the sand traps into water hazards. Both teams didn't let a bad shot affect their round and they fought through the conditions of the course.

The Tiger Men are back in action on Sunday, October 13th for their last meet of the fall season at the SLIAC Preview in Madison, IL. The Tiger Women will be back in action on October 7-8 as they head to Jacksonville, IL to compete in the SLIAC Conference Tournament.

Tiger Athletics: Iowa Wesleyan University strives to provide its student-athletes the opportunity to be successful in life and sports. Engaged in the SLIAC and UMAC Conferences, Tiger athletics is a proud member of NCAA Division III.
