Greenville Wins in Battle of Panthers

Greenville University won the battle of the Panthers as they topped Principia College in the SLIAC Game of the Week. Greenville walked away with a 2-0 win to remain undefeated in conference action. 

Principia grabbed the early lead when Georgia Rather scored at the 21st minute. Greenville needed just eight minutes to draw the game even when Molly McDonnell buried her third goal of the season. The two teams took that same 1-1 score into halftime.

Greenville controlled play in the second half, outshooting Principia 11-1. The Greenville pressure led to the go-ahead goal in the 70th minute when Jordan Wilson scored. Wilson would later set up Breanna Thomas' insurance goal in the 78th minute. 

Greenville outshot Principia 22-7 in the game with Marjory Coates picking up the win in net, stopping two shots. Hannah Hathway made five saves for Principia. Greenville improves to 6-5-2 overall and 3-0-1 in the SLIAC while Principia falls to 3-8 overall and 2-2 in the SLIAC.
