Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week

Kornell Hilliard - Spalding University

Hilliard claims the season's first weekly award as the Offensive Player of the Week. The senior from Louisville, Ky. played a role in four of his team's five goals in their two games on the weekend. Hilliard opened the season with 2 goals and 1 assist in his team's 4-0 win over Brescia. Hilliard added an assist on the game-tying goal against Centre, which ended in a 1-1 draw. For the week Hilliard finished with 2 goals and 2 assists for 6 total points with 6 shots on goal.

Trevor Massa - Spalding University

Massa, a sophomore goalkeeper, picks up Defensive Player of the Week honors for the season's first week. Massa, from Paducah, Ky., played all 200-minutes in net for the Golden Eagles and made 15 stops with a 0.45 goals-against average in the two games. He recorded a 4 save shutout against Brescia and followed with 11 stops in a 1-1 tie against Centre.

   
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week 

Savannah Page - Webster University

Page, a senior forward from Sandy, Utah, led the Gorloks to a 4-2 win in their 2019 season opener. Page netted 2 goals and added 1 assist in the game. It marks her 4th carer multi-goal game. She tallied her two goals on just three shots with one goal coming on a penalty kick. For the week Page finished with 5 total points in two games.

Makayla Hussong - Fontbonne University

Hussong, a senior from Florissant, Mo., totaled 12 saves in two games last week to pick up Defensive Player of the Week honors. She stopped all 7 shots in the season opener, a 0-0 tie against Ozarks. Hussong added five more saves in a 2-0 loss to Rhodes. On the week she finished with 12 saves and a 0.90 goals-against average with a .857 save percentage.

   
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week 

Kamryn Flesner - MacMurray College

Flesner, a sophomore outside hitter, helped the Highlanders to a pair of wins in the 2019 opening weekend. Flesner, last year's SLIAC Newcomer of the Year, finished with double-digit kills in all four matches on the weekend; averaging 3.50 kills per set. She tallied a high of 14 kills in a win over Rockford, hitting .419 in the match. On the week she hit .240 and added six digs and five total blocks.

   
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week 

Kristen Farrah - Webster University

Farrah wasted no time in getting into form, averaging 6.42 digs per set in the opening weekend of the 2019 season. The reigning SLIAC Defensive Player of the Year recorded 77 digs over three matches with a high of 30 against Hendrix. Farrah also added 10 assists on the week and reached at least 22 digs in all three matches for the Gorloks.

   
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week 

Cameron Sakuma - Webster University

Sakuma, a freshman from Fort Zumwalt West in O'Fallon, Mo., begins his collegiate career with top weekly honors in men's cross country. Sakuma placed 7th overall at the WIU Early Bird Invitational, finishing in a time of 20:31 for the 6K race. That mark was the 11th fastest in program history and helped the Gorloks to a 3rd place team finish.

 
   
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week 

Kalleigh Linthicum - Webster University

The junior from Lake St. Louis, Mo. set a Webster record in the first week of the season. She set a new program mark in the 4K with a time of 15:11, bettering the previous record by four seconds. She finished 10th overall in a field of 44 runners at the WIU Early Bird Invitational.

  • Jessica Bayne, Principia College (Volleyball) Recorded 17 kills and 11 digs in a win over Lincoln Christian.
  • Ethan Cowell, Fontbonne University (Men's Soccer) Recorded 11 saves against #20 ranked Wisconsin-Platteville.
  • Kayla Enochs, MacMurray College (Women's Soccer) Stopped 5 shots in a shutout win over Lakeland.
  • Michael Hansen, Eureka College (Men's Soccer) Netted two goals in the Red Devils come from behind win in their season opener, a 2-1 win over Emmaus.
  • Krystal Kohenskey, MacMurray College (Women's Soccer) Scored both of the Highlanders goals in their 2-0 season-opening win over Lakeland.
  • Ruben Martinez, Greenville University (Men's Soccer) Named MVP of the Panther Invitational.
  • Nikki Matters, Principia College (Volleyball) Recorded 9 service aces in a win over Lincoln Christian.
  • Jordan Price, Webster University (Volleyball) Finished with 12 total blocks, tying the program record for blocks in a single match.
  • Joacquin Soto, Webster University (Men's Soccer) Scored the game-winning goal in the 87th-minute of his team's 1-0 victory over Minnesota-Morris.
  • Kayla Strehle, Spalding University (Women's Soccer) Made 14 saves against Wittenberg and 20 saves total for the week.
