SLIAC Players of the Week - September 9

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Kornell Hilliard - Spalding University

For the second week in a row, Kornell Hilliard shined as the SLIAC Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week. Hilliard continued his assault on the back of the net. He scored a goal in all three of the Golden Eagles games last week and has notched at least one point in all five games this season. Hilliard netted the game-winning goal in a 3-1 win over Berea and now has a program leading 50 goals in his career. He was named the MVP of the Raven/Spartan Classic over the weekend after helping Spalding to wins against Manchester and Anderson. 

     
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
   

Trevor Massa - Spalding University

Trevor Massa picks up a second straight SLIAC Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week award after leading Spalding to three wins in net last week. He tallied 12 saves in the three outings with two team shutouts. Massa finished the week with a 0.34 goals-against average and a .923 save percentage, allowing just one goal in over 261-minute of action. 

     
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week 
 

Savannah Page - Webster University

Savannah Page takes home her second straight weekly award. Page, a senior from Sandy, Utah, buried three goals while adding one assist in her team's 6-3 win over Elmhurst. The three goals marked Page's first-ever collegiate hat-trick and she did so on seven shots. She netted her first goal just 92-seconds into the game and completed the feat with a goal in the 82nd minute. 

     
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
   

Sarah Cradick, Westminster College

Sarah Cradick put in a valiant effort in net for the Blue Jays last week. Cradick stopped 17 of 20 shots faced last week, carrying a .850 save percentage for the week. She allowed just three goals in 180-minutes of action and had a high of 10 saves against Rhodes. 

     
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week 
 

Abby Freeman, Greenville University

Abby Freeman picks up her first SLIAC Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week award this season. Freeman, a junior, averaged 5.73 kills per set while hitting .348 over three matches. She had a high of 29 kills on the week and totaled 63 kills overall. She also added 10 digs and four service aces last week while averaging 6.5 points per set.

     
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week 
 

Jenna Murphy, Iowa Wesleyan University

Jenna Murphy, a junior from Pella, Iowa, is this week's SLIAC Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week. Murphy helped the Tigers to three wins last week, leading the defense with 6.21 digs per set. Murphy reached double-digit digs in all five matches she played including a high of 40 digs against Knox. She also added 22 service aces on the week.

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week 
 

Dylan Goodyear, Greenville University

In his first race of the season, Dylan Goodyear picked up a 5th place individual finish to help the Panthers finish 3rd in the field as a team. Goodyear, a senior, completed his 7K course in a time of 23:32, averaging 5:10 per mile. Goodyear was the top finishing DIII runner in the race. 

 
     
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week 
 

Hannah Williams, Greenville University

Williams, a sophomore, secured a 10th place finish at last weekend's UIS Prairie Stars Invitational. Williams finished the 5K race in a time of 20:43, finishing 10th in a field of 54 runners. She was the highest finisher for the Panthers and averaged a 6:37 mile pace.

  • Kristen Farrah, Webster University (Volleyball) Moved into 10th place on the program's career digs list with 1,388.
  • Lida Landre, Iowa Wesleyan University (Volleyball) Had a high of 20 kills against Beloit.
  • Devon Marunde, Principia College (Volleyball) Tallied 37 digs in a win over Hannibal-LaGrange.
  • Jordan Price, Webster University (Volleyball) Price finished with 13 kills, 13 digs, and 7 total blocks in a win over St. Louis College of Pharmacy.
  • Cheleena Squib, Iowa Wesleyan University (Women's Soccer) Made 18 saves against Stephens College.
  • Sara Worrell, Eureka College (Volleyball) Averaged 7.5 assists and 4.1 digs per set over five matches for the Red Devils.
