Five and Relay Team, Qualify for Track and Field Nationals

Five individual student-athletes and one relay team have qualified for the 2023 NCAA Division III Outdoor Track and Field Championships later this week in Rochester, New York. 

Greenville University led the way with entrants. Two Panthers will compete in the 100-meter dash; Carson Rantanen and CJ Anderson. Rantanen posted the 5th fastest time in D3 this season at 10.41 seconds. His teammate Anderson is slotted 12th with a time of 10.47 seconds. Dylan Webster is the final men's qualifier for Greenville. Webster qualified with a mark of 6'8.75" in the high jump. The Panthers' 4x100 relay team qualified with the 10th-best time this season. Chase LaTouche, Carson Rantanen, Kourtland Harris, and CJ Anderson will run in the event. 

The final men's qualifier from the SLIAC is Principia College's, Howard James. The sophomore will be competing in the long jump, where he qualified 21st with a distance of 23'9.5". 

The lone female representative from the SLIAC is Cayden Sharp, from Greenville University. Sharp will be competing in two events; the long jump and the heptathlon. Sharp's mark of 19'3.25" put her 9th in the nation in the long jump while her score of 4756 in the heptathlon was 6th best in the country.
