Eureka's Caty Eeten Named to D3Hoops.com Team of the Week

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. – Less than 48 hours after being chosen as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Week, Eureka College sophomore guard Caty Eeten (Eureka, Ill./Eureka H.S.) has been named to the D3Hoops.com national Team of the Week. Five players are chosen nationwide for the weekly award.

Eeten narrowly missed a triple-double in each of Eureka's two victories last week, averaging 37.5 points, 11.0 rebounds and 7.0 assists in home wins over Robert Morris-Springfield and Knox. Eeten scored 49 points in Thursday's win over Knox to break Eureka's single-game scoring record. She shot 68 percent from the field and 75 percent from the foul line for the week, while also blocking four shots in the two games.

The Team of the Week, presented by Scoutware, is D3hoops.com's weekly honor roll, in its 15th season of recognizing the top performance at each of the five positions from the previous week. The website was founded by executive editor and former Division III sports information director Pat Coleman. Eeten was chosen as the website's Central Region Rookie of the Year last season. Eureka will participate in the second annual D3Hoops.com Classic in Las Vegas, Nev. on Dec. 27 and Dec. 29.

Eeten and the Red Devils (3-0) will be back in action on Wednesday, Nov. 30 in the SLIAC opener at the Reagan Center against Greenville. Tip-off is scheduled for 6 p.m.
