Hathaway Reaches 1,000 Career Points

The Women's Basketball team hosted Spalding University and it was a night to remember. We got to honor Sophia Hathaway at a home game. Sophia scored her 1000th point in the beginning of the game when she went to the free-throw line and sunk both shots.  Sophia has scored 1000 points in only three years of basketball and currently is the SLIAC League leader in points per game (20.1) and in blocks (36). The team had a quick time out to honor this accomplishment and we thank all the fans who showed up to cheer her on. While the Panthers lost, once again all the players worked hard.  Principia did not score in the second quarter but came back to score 16 and 12 in the third and fourth quarters.

Good to Know
Sophia Hathaway scored 20 and had 15 rebounds, along with 5 blocks. Madi Leslie got hot in the second half and had 3 three-point shots. Beka Petersen once again was tough on the boards with 6 rebounds and she also had 4 steals.

They said it
"What a fun evening to celebrate the accomplishment of scoring 1000 points by Sophia Hathaway.  Every player on this team was so excited to celebrate with her.  Watching Sophia score over 20 points a game and 1000 in 3 years is incredible. Congratulations to Sophia and her teammates who support her all season long."
