Fontbonne Ranked Second Among 2009-10 girls got game/NFCA Division III All-Academic Teams

Starkville, Miss. – Fontbonne University was ranked second as a 2009-10 girls got game/NFCA Division III All-Academic Team, while 15 softball players from around the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference were named Scholar Athletes.

The Griffins posted a team grade point average of 3.535 and ranked second among 94 total Division III teams. Webster University earned a ranking of 78th with a 3.157 team GPA.

Fifteen total softball players from three different SLIAC schools earned girls got game/NFCA Scholar Athlete status. Eureka College had four players named as Scholar Athlete - Carissa Alig, Cathy Kalnicky, Heather Skelton and Mary Garbett. Fontbonne had eight players named as Scholar Athlete - Alyssa Akers, Casey Kern, Cassandra Bremer, Emily Stoverink, Katy Mueller, Sam Pecher, Samantha Rosner and Stephanie Wilson. Webster had three players named as Scholar Athlete - Lexie Moore, Samantha Dittmann and Taylor Roberson.

The girls got game Academic Awards program honors both collegiate and high school teams for their submitted GPAs for the 2009-10 academic year. As a second component of the program, all submitted student-athletes who achieved a 3.50 GPA during last academic year are named as girls got game/NFCA Scholar Athletes.
