Four Women's Soccer Players Named NSCAA All-Central Region

ST. LOUIS - Four St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) women's soccer players have been named to the National Soccer Coaches Association of America (NSCAA) All-Central Region team.

Principia College's Alicia Girbes-Pierce was the lone player named to the Second Team, while Principia's Rachel Publicover, Greenville College's Jackie Sievert and Webster University's Ally Nikolaus were all named Third Team.

Girbes-Pierce finished the 2011 season with 13 goals and six assists. She was also a First Team All-SLIAC selection and helped lead Principia to their fifth consecutive regular season conference championship and their third trip to the NCAA Tournament in the past four years. Publicover was also a First Team All-SLIAC honoree at forward and finished the season with 14 goals and seven assists.

Sievert was the 2011 SLIAC Player of the Year and named First Team All-SLIAC. She recorded a total of 10 goals and eight assists this season, while leading her team to a third place finish in the SLIAC regular season.

Nikolaus, a defender, earned First Team All-SLIAC honors this season and finished with a total of seven goals and two assists. She was a part of a defense that allowed only 16 goals on the season and posted a total of 10 shutouts. The Gorloks finished in second place in the SLIAC.
