Principia Women Will Take on No. 14 Wartburg in NCAA Tournament

ST. LOUIS - The Principia College women's soccer team will travel to Waverly, Iowa, to take on No. 14 Wartburg College in a first round NCAA Division III Tournament game this Friday, November 11, at 5:00pm.

Principia (16-3-1) will be making their fourth overall appearance in the NCAA Tournament. They were defeated last year in the first round by Hardin-Simmons University, 3-0. Wartburg is 16-2-2 coming into the tournament and received an at-large bid after falling in the Iowa Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (IIAC) Women's Soccer Tournament Championship, 2-1, to Loras College.

Principia is led by Rachel Publicover with a team-high 14 goals and seven assists for 35 points total. Alicia Girbes-Pierce is close behind with 13 goals and six assists for a total of 32 points, while Cristina Post has tallied a team-high nine assists. In goal Torie DeNicholas and Murilla King have split time a majority of the season, with each posting records of 4-2-0 and 4-1-1 respectively. DeNicholas has played in 13 games and has allowed six goals in 951:45 minutes for a 0.57 goals-against average. Murilla has played in 11 games and has allowed five goals in 841:29 minutes for a 0.53 goals-against average. The pair have also recorded 19 and 36 saves respectively.
