Greenville's Women's Track & Field Squad Earns USTFCCCA Academic Award

GREENVILLE, Ill. - The women's track and field team and individual student-athletes at Greenville College have earned NCAA Division III all-academic track and field awards sponsored by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association (USTFCCCA). The entire women's squad was an all-academic team, and student-athletes Talen Gerber and Jaclyn Johnson-Cross were designated as individual members of the all-academic team.

A total of 106 institutions earned recognition as an all-academic team as a result of a cumulative grade point average of 3.1 or better. Greenville's team GPA was 3.13. The team, under the leadership of coach Brian Patton, has earned this honor for more than 10 consecutive seasons.

A total of 330 student-athletes representing 99 institutions composed the group of individual all-academic team recipients. To qualify for the USTFCCCA all-academic track and field team, the women compiled a cumulative grade point average of 3.3 or better and met either the NCAA Division III indoor or outdoor automatic or provisional qualifying standard.

Gerber competed in the 800-meter run in the outdoor season, and Johnson-Cross was an indoor weight throw and outdoor hammer throw participant.
