Hilliard Recognized Nationally

After being selected as the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week this week, Spalding University forward Kornell Hilliard was recognized as well nationally for his performance. Hilliard chosen by the United Soccer Coaches as the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Player of the Week. He joins eight other soccer players to earn the recognition this week. 

Hilliard, a senior from Louisville, Ky., recorded back-to-back hat-tricks while leading the Golden Eagles to a pair of conference wins. Hilliard has been named the SLIAC Player of the Week four times this season and currently leads the league with 17 goals and 41 total points.

Air Force sophomore forward Tristan Trager (San Clemente, Calif.) had back-to-back hat tricks and scored six of seven goals last week for the Falcons. Georgetown senior midfielder Paula Germino-Watnick (Chevy Chase, Md.) recorded a hat trick, scoring all three goals in the only action for the Hoyas last week, a win over St. John's.

Clayton State senior forward Ryan King (County Durham, England) scored five goals last week, including a hat trick and the game-winner in a 3-2 upset win over No. 7 Francis Marion. Lee senior goalkeeper Taylor Green (Ooltewah, Tenn.) recorded a pair of shutout victories last week, including a 1-0 double overtime win over 24th-ranked West Alabama.

Kornell Hilliard (Louisville, Ky.), a senior forward from Spalding University, scored six goals and dished out one assist last week for 13 points. He recorded back-to-back hat tricks to propel his team into the conference tournament. Utica College senior forward Mikayla Blumenstock (Poland, N.Y.) scored seven goals and had one assist for 15 points. She scored four goals in one game and three in another to set single-season school records for goals and points.

El Camino College freshman midfielder Melvyn Perez-Cortez (Los Angeles, Calif.) scored two goals and had one assist for five points in a pair of wins last week. Holmes Community College freshman forward Cariel Ellis (Madison, Miss.) scored four goals and had one assist for nine points last week. She scored the game-winner in the Region XXIII Championship.
