Principia Back to Nationals; Will Face Luther

The Principia College men's soccer team will be making their first trip to the NCAA Division III Men's Soccer Championship since 1997 and will face Luther College in the opening round. Principia earned the automatic bid to the national tournament after winning the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference tournament last weekend. Principia is 12-6 on the season and coached by Jess Semnacher. The program will be making its third national tournament appearance.

Meanwhile, Luther is 16-4-1 this season and will host first and second-round games this weekend. Luther is located in Decorah, Iowa and is making their 10th appearance in the national tournament including second straight under head coach Chris Garcia-Prats. Luther earned an automatic berth to the national tournament by winning the six-team American Rivers Conference Tournament. 

Principia and Luther will play their first-round game on Saturday, November 16 at 1 p.m. The other game that day hosted by Luther College will include Central College (14-3-2) and UW-Superior (16-3-2) at 3:30 p.m. Winners of the two games will advance to the second round match that will begin at 3:00 p.m. Sunday, Nov. 17.
