Moore Lifts Gorloks to Win in Game of the Week

BOX SCORE

Mark Moore scored a pair of goals to help Webster University pick up a 3-0 win over visiting Spalding University in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Game of the Week and extend Webster's program-record winning streak to 11 games. Webster improves to 11-1 overall and 7-0 in the SLIAC this season. Its last loss against a conference opponent came last season, to Spalding, and have won 17 straight games against SLIAC teams; including postseason play.

Moore got the scoring started with a goal at the 29-minute mark, after receiving a pass from Noah Abraham. He tallied another mark just 1:45 later on another set-up from Abraham. The Gorloks defense kept Spalding under control for the majority of the game, holding the visitors to just 8 shots for the entire game. Gorlok keeper kept the Golden Eagles off the board, stopping all four shots on net.

Webster tacked on an additional goal late when Colby Kapp scored on a pass from Aamahn Murvin. Webster outshot Spalding 15-8 in the game, including 5-4 on goal, and held an 8-4 edge in corner kicks. Next up for Webster is a game against Greenville University on the road on Monday while Spalding will host Fontbonne on Wednesday, the start of a three-game homestand.
