SLIAC Players of the Week - October 11

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for October 11, 2021.

Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

KeYonn Hall-Baker, Fontbonne University

The sophomore runner was his team's top finisher at the Border War hosted by Principia College. Hall-Baker completed the 8K course in a time of 36:23, his second-fastest time at that length this season. 

     
Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week
 

Emme Schaefer, Principia College

Schaefer ran to a 9th place finish at the Principia Border War. The senior finished in the top ten in a field that boasted 63 runners. She completed the 5K course in a time of 20:18, a personal best time, and was the first D3 runner to cross the finish line.

     
Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
   

Noah Abraham, Webster University

Abraham totaled 8 points over two games; helping the Gorloks extend its winning streak with two conference wins last week. The sophomore midfielder produced 2 goals and 1 assist in a 4-0 win over Westminster and followed with 1 goal and 1 assist in a 7-0 win over Principia. Abraham totaled his 3 goals on just five shots. 

     
Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
   

Jonny McCarthy, Webster University

McCarthy was a part of the Gorlok defense that recorded back-to-back shutouts in wins over conference opponents. The junior defender is now part of a team defense that has allowed just one goal in seven conference games. 

     
Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
   

Jordan Lande, Webster University

Lande finished with 2 goals and 2 assists for 6 total points in two games last week for the Gorloks. The senior forward did her damage in a senior day victory over Principia; tallying her 2 goals and 2 assists on just four shots in the game. Her first goal was the decisive goal in the game. 

     
Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
   

Mary Beers, Fontbonne University

Beers picked up a pair of wins, including one shutout, in net for the Griffins. The senior finished the week with four saves, allowing one goal, in 180-minutes of action. She picked up her 18th career shutout in a victory over Principia, making one save, and then followed with three saves in a 2-1 win over Greenville that kept her team undefeated in conference action.

     
Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week
   

Emily Stahl, Greenville University

Stahl totaled 29 kills, 5 aces, and 9 blocks in four matches for the Panthers last week. The senior had a high if 8 kills in a sweep of Spalding, adding five total blocks in the match and finishing with 12.5 points. She hit .500 on the week, averaging 2.07 kills, 0.57 digs, and 0.64 blocks per set.

     
Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week
   

Anna Finch, Greenville University

Finch registered 14 total blocks over four matches last week, helping the Panthers to a pair of conference wins. The senior averaged 1.00 blocks per set and twice reached five total blocks in a match on the week. She also added four digs on the week.

  • Taryn Banfield, Webster University (Soccer) Notched a pair of shutout wins last week for the Gorloks.
  • Lauren Borik, Webster University (Volleyball) Had two double-double outings including a high of 19 kills and 13 digs in a win over Monmouth.
  • Ethan Eckert, Spalding University (Soccer) Recorded 2 goals and 1 assist in a win over Blackburn.
  • Assan Gueye, Spalding University (Soccer) Stood out with 8 saves in an overtime shutout win over Greenville.
  • Hannah Holland, Spalding University (Volleyball) Finished with 12 kills and 15 digs in a win over Blackburn. 
  • Kristen Kaempfe, Fontbonne University (Volleyball) Averaged 3.67 kills per set in two matches, recording one double-double match.
  • Madi Lenk, Westminster College (Soccer) Netted a hat-trick by scoring three goals in the span of just 10-minutes in a win over Eureka.
  • Jared McPeek, Greenville University (Soccer) The forward netted 4 goals, on just four shots, in a win over Fontbonne.
  • Haley Menke, Westminster College (Volleyball) Averaged 4.14 kills per set in two matches with a high of 19 kills against Webster.
