Greenville and Webster Set For Regional Play

Greenville College and Webster University are two of the six teams that will take the field in this week's NCAA Division III Baseball Central Region Tournament. The tournament will be held at GCS Ballpark in Sauget, Illinois hosted by Webster University.

This marks the second time in conference history that two teams from the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference have made the regional tournament in the same year. Greenville College secured the conference's automatic bid by winning the conference tournament this past weekend. This is the Panthers second-ever trip to the NCAA Baseball Championships. The Panthers are 30-15 overall this season and have won seven of their last eight games. They will be the #6 seed in the region and face top-seeded Birmingham-Southern at 12 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.

Meanwhile, Webster was an at-large selection and will be making their 11th trip to the NCAA Championships in program history. The Gorloks are 29-13 overall and will be the #4 seed in the Region Tournament. They are set to face #3 seeded Wartburg College at 7 p.m. on Thursday, May 18.
