SLIAC Players of the Week - Dec. 30
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference has announced its Men's and Women's Basketball Players of the Week for December 23. This week's winners are Joe James, from Westminster College, and Briana Rae, from Blackburn College.

MEN'S BASKETBALL For the second consecutive week Joe James, a junior guard from St. Louis, Mo., has been named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week. James' week was highlighted by a 32 point effort in his team's 82-80 win over Coe College. James went 10-of-17 from the field and 11-of-12 from the free-throw line as he paced all scorers. James added 10 rebounds, three assists and three steals in the contest. In two games for the week James averaged 21.5 points, 5.5 rebounds, 2.5 assists and 2.0 steals per game.

WOMEN'S BASKETBALL Rae, a junior forward from Staunton, Ill., is this week's SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after leading her team in scoring in a game against Linfield on Sunday. Rae netted 23 points, nearly half her team's points, while grabbing a game high 15 rebounds including 10 offfensive rebounds. Rae was 11-of-23 from the field and added three steals in the game.
