AROUND THE SLIAC
The Blackburn soccer programs said goodbye to several seniors on
Saturday. The men's team honored seniors Dylan Parkin, Shane
Rogers, Julian Valencia, and Brett Becherer. The women's team
recognized seniors Alexis Richie, Emma Witte, Allison Guerra, Mary
Chamberlain, Kara Taylor, Chelsea McMillian, and DeArryka
Williams. |

The Greenville volleyball team won their fifth consecutive SLIAC
regular season title, defeating Eureka 3-0 on Tuesday night to
clinch the top spot. Greenville won the match 25-15, 25-14, 25-13
and will host the 2014 SLIAC Volleyball Tournament this Saturday
where they will also be the top seed. The Panthers shared the
regular season title with Spalding in 2010 and Webster in both 2011
and 2012 before winning the title outright in each of the last two
years. |

The MacMurray volleyball closed out their 2014 season with a 3-2
win over Iowa Wesleyan. The Highlanders rallied from behind to take
the match 25-14, 21-25, 25-27, 25-19, and 15-7. Morgan Hauser led
all players with 18 kills while Kennedy Magee added 12 kills.
Taylor Hewitt finished with 37 digs as the team totaled 17
blocks. |
The Principia women's soccer team won their fourth consecutive
game and secured a spot into the 2014 SLIAC Women's Soccer
Tournament. The Panthers closed out the final week of the regular
season with wins over Spalding and Iowa Wesleyan and will be the #3
seed in this year's tournament. They will face #2 seed Fontbonne on
Wednesday night. |

The Webster soccer team's each won 2014 SLIAC regular season
titles, going undefeated. The men's team finished with an 8-0-1
record, claiming their seventh title in program history, while the
women's team went 9-0, winning their 10th program title. |
The Westminster women's soccer team grabbed the final spot into
the 2014 SLIAC Women's Soccer Tournament and will be the #4 seed,
facing #1 seed Webster. Westminster will be making their 12th
tournament trip and first since 2006. |
The Eureka men's basketball team was picked seventh the 2014 SLIAC
Preseason Poll. The Red Devils totaled 32 points in the poll and
return three starters and eleven letterwinners. The women's team
was picked fifth in the women's poll, receiving 48 points. They
return four starters but will have to replace all-time leading
scorer Caty Eeten.
The Fontbonne volleyball team closed out their 2014 season by
writing two new spots in their program record book. Sophomore
Maddie Stadler set the record for most aces in a season, finishing
with 49. Sophomore Kersten McDonough finished the year with 495
kills, second most in program history for a single season.
The Iowa Wesleyan women's team was picked as preseason favorites
in this year's SLIAC Preseason poll. The Tigers received six of ten
first-place votes and return three starters from last year's team
that went 22-3 overall. The men's basketball team was picked 9th in
the 2014 SLIAC Preseason poll. The Tigers return three starters and
welcome in new head coach Alex Huisman.
The Spalding men's soccer team claimed their first berth into the
SLIAC Men's Soccer Tournament and will be the #3 seed in this
year's field. They finished the regular season with a 12-5-1
