Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
   

Adam Lovell, Webster University

Lovell helped the Gorloks to four wins last week, hitting .353 with 2 home runs and 7 runs batted in while finishing with a .500 on-base percentage. He scored 7 times in the four games and also drew five walks. Lovell scored and had a hit in all four games including back-to-back two-hit games. 

Diamond Sports Pitcher of the Week  
   

Nick Glaser, Fontbonne University

Glaser picked up his fourth consecutive win, topping Principia 12-0 on April 1. The sophomore threw all seven innings in the win, limiting the Panthers to just two hits while striking out a season-high nine batters and walking just one.

Softball Hitter of the Week
 

Raelyn Payne, Eureka College

Payne hit .647 with 1 home run, 6 RBI, and 4 stolen bases while helping the Red Devils to four wins in their five games played. The senior collected a hit in all five games including a pair of three-hit performances. She added four doubles and one triple on the week, recording a 1.176 slugging percentage. Payne also scored six times and had four multiple-hit games.

Softball Pitcher of the Week
   

Taylor Girth, Blackburn College

Girth, a sophomore, picks up this week's award after going 4-0 in the circle with a 0.33 earned-run average on the week. Girth made three starts and worked a total of 20.1 innings on the week and struck out 20 batters. Her best outing was game one against Maranatha Baptist when she threw 4.1 innings, striking out 5 and allowing no hits.

Men's Tennis Player of the Week    
 

Rafter Sprague, Principia College

Sprague picked up a pair of wins last week, topping Illinois Wesleyan at #3 singles and #2 doubles. In singles play he won 6-2, 6-2 and in doubles, he partnered with Juan Segovia for an 8-4 win. 

Women's Tennis Player of the Week    
 

Maddie Mena, Webster University

Mena collected four wins last week including a pair of wins against D II opponent McKendree University. The freshman won 6-0, 6-3 at #6 singles and added a 6-2 win in #3 doubles with her partner Emily Casey.

Men's Field Athlete of the Week    
 

Nate Brown, Greenville University

Brown continues his torrid 2022 season, notching a pair of top two finishes at the WashU Invite. Brown placed 1st in the shot put with a mark of 46'0.75" and then finished 2nd in the discus with a throw of 154'2". 

Men's Track Athlete of the Week    
 

Mitchell Gill, Principia College

Competing in the 400-meter race Gill took 1st place at the WashU Invite. The senior finished in a time of 49.78 seconds, leading the next closest conference runner by over a second. 

Women's Field Athlete of the Week    
 

Tawny Rodriguez, Greenville University

Rodriguez had a career weekend with a pair of lifetime best throws. She took 1st in the discus with a distance of 134'7", the 9th best in DIII this spring. She also finished 3rd in the shot put and 4th in the hammer throw.  

Women's Track Athlete of the Week
 

Cayden Sharp, Greenville University

Sharp competed in three events at the WashU Invite, recording a lifetime best in the 100-meter dash; finishing in 12.38 seconds and placing 4th. She was also 4th as a member of the 4x100 relay and took 5th in the 100-meter hurdles with a time of 15.28 seconds.

  • Bella Velez, Spalding University (Softball) Drove in 10 over four games last week, hitting .438.
  • Matt Helm, Fontbonne University (Baseball) Went 6-for-7 at the plate in a three-game sweep of Principia. 
  • Josie Manar, Blackburn College (Softball) Hit .636 with 11 RBI in five games. 
  • Christine Mepham, Eureka College (Softball) Was 3-0 on the week with a 0.74 earned-run average for the Red Devils.
  • Haley Miller, Westminster College (Softball) Threw a no-hitter, striking out 10 against Principia.
  • Avylina Powell-Qualo, Westminster College (Track and Field) Two top-three showings at the CMU Invitational. 
  • Laney Rosson, Westminster College (Softball) Was 9-for-12 with 10 RBI in a sweep of Principia.
