Wilson Selected as SLIAC SAAC President

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) is pleased to announce the selection of Autumn Wilson as President of its Student-Athlete Advisory Council (SAAC). Wilson recently completed her junior season as a volleyball player at Blackburn College. She arrived at Blackburn from Reno, Nevada, and this past year joined as a member of the Blackburn SAAC group. This Blackburn College SAAC group currently leads the SLIAC SAAC Challenge, a competition among conference campus SAAC groups.

"As an individual, I have always been interested in helping others, the opportunity to engage a community through acts of community service excited me and I leaped towards SAAC at Blackburn as a result," said Wilson. "I enjoy taking charge so becoming president was a task I was willing to take on. When I was asked about becoming an active member in our SLIAC program I was delighted at the opportunity."

The SLIAC SAAC is a committee of student-athletes that serves as a communication link between the conference member student-athletes and the athletics administration of the SLIAC member institutions. SAAC members are expected to represent the viewpoints of student-athletes on their respective campuses and to serve as a vital communication link between the Conference and its student-athletes.

SAAC members also look to enhance the image of student-athletes both on campus and in the community through engaging in campus and community service projects and to serve as positive role models for their peers and younger athletes. The committee also serves as a voice for issues that involve rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes.
