Panthers Reign Three's In Record Setting Outing

For five years Greenville University has been putting up three-pointers with ease but on Saturday they achieved a new height; connecting on 35 three-point field goals in their 161-131 point win over MacMurray College. The 35 three-pointers set a new St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference record for most three's in a game, breaking the previous high of 33 which they set last year. Greenville now holds the top ten spots on the conference's single-game three-point record and have now topped 30 three's in a SLIAC game four times, all coming in the last two seasons. Greenville already holds the NCAA Division III record for three's in a game with 37 against non-conference Lincoln Christian.

Greenville connected on 35-of-81 three-point attempts in the win on Saturday with 12 different players knocking down at least one three-pointer. Marvin Bateman led the way with 34 points, on 10-of-18 three-point shooting. Kameron Vinsel added 26 points on 8 three-pointers.

Greenville is now 11-10 overall and 10-4 in the SLIAC.
