Anthony Jones, Fontbonne University Jones, a sophomore from Wentzville, Mo., picks up weekly honors after leading the Griffins to a pair of conference wins last week. Jones averaged 30.0 points and 7.0 rebounds in the two wins, adding four steals. He started the week with 18 points and 8 rebounds in a come from behind road-win over Spalding. He scored 11 of his points in the second half, sparking the Griffins, who were down 20 at halftime, to the win. He followed that outing with a career-high 42 points in a 114-110 overtime win over Eureka. Jones finished 15-of-22 from the field, adding 6 rebounds and 1 steal in the game. He hit a half-court shot at the buzzer to force the game into overtime. |

Rylee Stafford, Fontbonne University Stafford receives her 2nd weekly award this season after averaging 22.0 points and 5.5 rebounds in two games for the Griffins last week. She recorded 20 points, hitting on four three-pointers, against Spalding in a mid-week contest. She added 1 steal and 1 assist in that game. On Saturday she returned home to lead the Griffins to a 73-62 win over Eureka, finishing with 24 points on 9-of-15 shooting including three three-pointers. Stafford also recorded 7 rebounds and 3 steals in the game. |
