Feehan Named NABC All-District
Eureka College junior guard Shea Feehan (Peoria, Ill./Notre Dame H.S.) has been voted to the National Association of Basketball Coaches (NABC) All-Central District Second Team, according to a Monday announcement from the NABC. Feehan, who was also named St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Player of the Year last month, led the Red Devils to 18 wins and their first league tournament bid since 2013.

Feehan is the fifth Eureka men's basketball player to receive All-District recognition from the NABC, joining Craig Negangard (2004), Chris Tarpley (2007), Michael Zasada (2010) and Mark Lessen (2013).
Selected by member coaches of the NABC in NCAA Division III, Feehan was one of 11 players from six different conferences in the Central District to be honored by the organization on Monday. Robert Duaz of Wisconsin-Platteville was the District Player of the Year and UW-Platteville head coach Jeff Gard was voted Coach of the Year.
The Peoria Notre Dame product appeared in 22 games for the Red Devils this winter, including 20 starts. In 32.3 minutes per contest, he led the SLIAC and ranked second nationally with 30.6 points per game to shatter his own single-season scoring average record of 26.7 set last season. Additionally, his 30.6 scoring average made him the first player in SLIAC history to average at least 30.0 points per game, besting the previous high-water mark of 27.9 set by Webster's Jeff Reis in 2000-01.
Feehan, who missed a December contest and three more games in February due to two different ankle injuries, scored 673 points to break Chris Peterson's single-season Eureka scoring record of 653 set during the Red Devils' 1993-94 national-title season. Feehan made 3.95 3-pointers per game to rank seventh in Division III and his 87 makes for the year were sixth-most in single-season program history.
The only SLIAC player to receive All-District accolades from the NABC and a five-time SLIAC Player of the Week honoree this season, Feehan scored 17 points or more in all 22 of his appearances this season. He had 11 30-point games, five 40-point games and broke Eureka's single-season scoring record with 49 points in a 103-89 win at Knox on Nov. 26.
Feehan ended his third season in a Eureka uniform ranked fourth in Eureka history and sixth in SLIAC history with 1,601 career points. He also became one of only four Red Devils to make 200 career 3-pointers and ranks fourth on the program's list with 201 career 3s. Additionally, his 380 career free throws rank second during EC's Division III era (1978-present) and his career free-throw percentage of 89.6 makes him the most accurate free throw shooter in Eureka men's basketball history.
Located in Kansas City, Mo., the NABC was founded in 1927 by Forrest "Phog" Allen, the legendary basketball coach at the University of Kansas. Allen, a student of James Naismith, the inventor of basketball, organized coaches into this collective group to serve as Guardians of the Game. The NABC currently has nearly 5,000 members consisting primarily of university and college men's basketball coaches.
