Greenville Women's Soccer Steps Up in Tornado Clean-up Efforts

GREENVILLE, Ill. -- The Greenville College women's soccer team spent Saturday, May 7, assisting residents in the St. Louis area with clean up following the destructive tornadoes of April 22. News crews from KMOV TV in St. Louis were on site to capture footage that was later featured on the evening news. In addition, St. Louis county executive Charlie Dooley addressed the GC contingent.

While there, the team assisted with removal of fallen trees. They also picked up and sorted trash.

The women's soccer team was second in the SLIAC standings in the fall and advanced to the SLIAC tournament championship game. They also participated in the NCCAA North Central regional and finished with an overall mark of 14-7-2. Later this summer, they will embark on a preseason tour of Italy as they prepare for their season.
