Lindstrom Returns to Beavers as Head Coach

Marlee Lindstrom has been named the new Head Volleyball Coach at Blackburn College. Lindstrom is a former player at Blackburn and was most recently the Head Volleyball Coach at North Mac High School in Virden, Illinois.

As a player, Lindstrom holds the school record for digs in a season with 523 in 2015, she also holds the record for digs in a career with 1,369. Lindstrom was named the conference defensive player of the week for the week of October 19, 2015, when she recorded 53 digs in a match against North Central College.

Lindstrom compiled a record of 59-39 from 2019-21 at North Mac. Prior to North Mac, Lindstrom received her master's degree with a 4.0-grade point average from Western Illinois University in Macomb, Illinois.  Lindstrom received her bachelor's degree from Blackburn in May of 2017.

Additional coaching experience includes coaching club volleyball for Shock Volleyball of Springfield, Illinois in 2016-17 and Serves-U-Rite Club Volleyball in Maquoketa, Iowa for the 2014 season. Lindstrom also gained additional experience working volleyball camps at Blackburn as well as a Fellowship of Christian Athletes Camps from 2014-17.

The Maquoketa, Iowa native now lives in Carlinville.

She had an incredible career as a Blackburn student-athlete and has since proven herself as a formidable head coach.  We look forward to the direction she will take the volleyball program and the experience she'll provide for the student-athletes," said Blackburn College Athletic Director Rob Steinkuehler.
