Eureka's Eeten, Spalding's Harrod Tabbed All-Region by D3Hoops.com

BLOOMINGTON, Minn. - Eureka College's Caty Eeten and Spalding University's Kelly Harrod were both named to the D3Hoops.com All-Central Region Team, according to an announcement from the website Wednesday. Eeten, a guard, earned the honor for the second consecutive year and was named to the Third Team. Harrod, a forward, was a Second Team honoree.

Eeten, who was the 2011 D3Hoops.com Central Region Rookie of the Year and a 2012 Second Team selection, turned in another outstanding season for the Red Devils in 2012-13. She earned her second consecutive selection to the All-St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference First Team, leading the league with 22.2 points per game, 179 field goals made, 164 free throws made and a .532 3-point field goal percentage.

Her 3-point field goal percentage of .532 broke Eureka's single-season record among players to make at least one 3-pointer per game over the course of the season. Her 2012-13 totals of 555 points, 164 free throws made and 204 free throws attempted each ranked second in single-season program history, while her marks of 22.2 points per game (third), 179 field
goals made (fourth) and an .804 free throw percentage (seventh) each cracked Eureka's single-season top-10 lists.

Eeten, who received preseason All-America Honorable Mention from D3Hoops.com, was a three-time SLIAC Player of the Week in 2012-13 (Dec. 3, Jan. 28, Feb. 4) and was selected to the SLIAC All-Tournament Team last month.

The 5-foot-10 guard will enter her final collegiate season next November with 1,450 career points, needing only 34 more points to break the all-time Eureka scoring record of 1,483 held by Jessica Reardon (2001-05). She also ranks seventh in SLIAC history and needs an additional 239 points to break the all-time SLIAC scoring record of 1,688 held by Principia's Christina Speer (2005-09).

Eeten already owns the all-time Eureka record in free throws made (455), free throws attempted (559), scoring average (21.3) and 3-point field goal percentage (.404). She also ranks among the all-time program leaders with an .814 free throw percentage (.814), 469 field goals made (fifth), 57 3-pointers made (seventh), 230 assists (ninth) and a .451 field goal percentage (10th).

Harrod, the SLIAC Player of the Year, averaged 18.4 points per game and 10.4 rebounds per game this season, while becoming the Golden Eagles’ all-time leading scorer. Harrod also recorded 15 double-doubles this season ranking her 18th in Division III.

Harrod garnered several awards this season including First Team All-SLIAC, SLIAC All-Defensive Team, SLIAC All-Tournament Team, Franklin College Tip-Off All-Tournament Team, and Amy Hasbrook Memorial All-Tournament Team. She was also a two-time SLIAC Player of the Week (Dec. 17, Jan. 21).

D3Hoops.com divides NCAA Division III women's basketball into eight regions nationwide.
