The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for September 19, 2022

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

Jeremiah Perry, Greenville University

Perry raced to an 11th place showing at the Tiger Invitational, helping the Panthers to a 3rd place team finish. Perry completed the 8k course in a time of 27:43, working his way through a field of 130 runners and leading his team by 30-seconds over their next finisher. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week  
 

Gretchen Carie, Greenville University

On a warm day, Carie led the Panthers to a 3rd-place team finish at the Tiger Invitational. The sophomore finished in 20:27, finishing 7th individually in a field of 76 runners. 

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Amar Mujezinovic, Webster University

Mujezinovic, a junior, helped the Gorloks to a win and a tie in conference opening week. He tallied his team's only goal in a tie against Greenville, doing so on his only shot of the game. He netted two goals in his team's 5-0 win over Fontbonne, finishing the week with three goals on four shots. 

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  Heath George, Webster University

A junior defender George helped the Gorlok defense limit their opponents to just one goal in two games. He also added a pair of assists in helping the Gorloks pick up a win over Fontbonne. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Krystal Kohenskey, Fontbonne University

Kohenskey was key in helping the Griffins to a pair of conference wins last week. She recorded one goal and one assist in each game, helping top Spalding and then scoring the game-winner against Webster. On the week she totaled 2 goals and 2 assists on 14 shots and moved into 2nd place on the program's career assist list. 

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Lizzie Brooksher, Eureka College

A freshman keeper for the Red Devils, Brooksher finished the week with 22 saves and a 1.00 goals-against average with a .917 save percentage on the week. She picked up a shutout win over Blackburn, making seven saves, and closed out the week with 15 saves against Westminster.

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Lauren Borik, Webster University

Capturing her second straight award Borik finished the week with 76 kills in five matches while helping the Gorloks to three wins. She had double-digit kills in four of the matches, averaging 3.30 kills per set. She finished with 85 total points on the week while hitting .274 and adding five aces. 

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Emma Pramik, Fontbonne University

The senior defensive specialist finished with 47 digs in two outings last week, averaging 5.88 per set. She had a high of 26 digs in a win over Health Sciences and Pharmacy and followed with 21 more in a win over Harris-Stowe. Pramik also added one ace and one block. 

Other Notables

  • Mary Beers, Fontbonne University (Women's Soccer) Had four total saves in recording a pair of shutouts, giving her 26 shutouts in her career.
  • Malena Bixby, Westminster College (Volleyball) Named to the Hanover All-Invitational team while totaling 73 kills on the week including 21 against Kenyon.
  • Hannah Gallagher, Fontbonne University (Volleyball) Had a double-double with 16 kills and 11 digs while hitting .279 on the week.
  • Karissa Heffernan, Eureka College (Women's Cross Country) Had the best showing by a Red Devil since the re-launch of the program, placing 22nd at the Bradley Intercollegiate Championships. 
  • Brooklyn Shell, Eureka College (Volleyball) Recorded 15 kills and 26 digs in a win over Beloit. 
  • Baeli Young, Spalding University (Women's Soccer) Netted 2 goals and 1 assist in a win over Blackburn.
