SLIAC Celebrates D3 Diversity and Inclusion Week
The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is proud to celebrate the 2022 NCAA Division III Diversity and Inclusion Week. This week conference members will be participating through various social media platforms to create awareness, education, and engagement showing the importance of inclusive environments in college sports. The annual NCAA Diversity and Inclusion Social Media Campaign was first launched in 2018, in partnership with the Minority Opportunities and Interests Committee and the National Student-Athlete Advisory Committees, to use social media to create a dialogue around diversity and inclusion and communicate the benefit of inclusive environments in college sports.
This year's themes are:
Day 1 (Tuesday, October 18) - 'Exploring My Identities' - exploring student-athlete's intersectional identities, perspectives, and experiences
Day 2 (Wednesday, October 19) - 'Allyship Is...' defining and highlighting personal examples of allyship to cultivate communities of belonging within athletics
Day 3 (Thursday, October 20) - 'Strength In Unity' outlining collective and institutional action steps for fostering belonging and inclusive excellence
Follow along each day as SLIAC schools participate in the week-long celebration and show their support
