The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for October 10, 2022

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

Rex Heath, Principia College

Competing in a field of 70 runners, Heath was the top Division III competition. He completed the 8k course in a time of 26:59, setting a new personal record. The new mark bested his previous time by 17-seconds. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week  
 

Geena Richards, Principia College

Richards placed 27th in the Border War. She finished the 5K course in a time of 22:31, setting a new personal record. Richards was first among DIII runners in the field. 

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Aamahn Murvin, Webster University

Murvin continues to shine for the Gorloks, winning his third straight award. The senior forward notched a goal and an assist in a pair of conference wins last week. He buried the game-winning goal against Spalding. Murvin was involved in all four of the Gorloks' on the week.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  Ty Baudendistel, Webster University

A freshman keeper, Baudendistel was in net for two shutout wins last week. He stopped the only shot he saw in a 2-0 win against Spalding. Three days later he recorded six saves in a 2-0 win over Fontbonne. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Ashlie Johnston Cabral, Greenville University

Johnston Cabral tallied 10 points in two games for the Panthers last week. The freshman scored four goals in a win over Eureka and added another goal in a victory over Principia. The forward notched the game-winning goal in both games.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Mary Beers, Fontbonne University

Beers played two clean sheets for the Griffins last week. She had one save in a win over Principia and followed with two saves in a shutout win over Webster. Beers now has 31 career shutouts, a SLIAC record.

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Mia Bonacorsi, Greenville University

Winning her second straight award Bonacorsi totaled 56 kills and 61 digs in four matches last week. She had three matches of double-digit kills including a high of 25 kills against Westminster. Bonacorsi averaged 3.5 kills per set on the week and finished with 63.5 points. 

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Chasity Hill, Greenville University

Hill secures her third consecutive award after totaling 96 digs in four wins last week. The senior averaged 6.0 digs per set and had a high of 32 digs in a four-set victory over Fontbonne. She also added 13 assists and four aces.

  • Lauren Borik, Webster University (Volleyball) Recorded her 1,000th career kill, becoming the 7th player in program history to reach the milestone.
  • Cassie Gray, Webster University (Volleyball) Had 35 digs against Monmouth.  
  • Kristen Kaempfe, Fontbonne University (Volleyball) Totaled 29 kills and 8 blocks in three matches last week.
  • Mackenzie Sundhausen, Webster University (Women's Soccer) Recorded a hat trick with three goals and one assist in a win over Blackburn.
  • Baeli Young, Spalding University (Women's Soccer) Finished with three goals and three assists in leading the Golden Eagles to a win over Blackburn.
