The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference Players of the Week for October 3, 2022

     
Men's Cross Country Runner of the Week
   

Cameron Sakuma, Webster University

A senior runner for the Gorloks, Sakuma finished his 8K race in a time of 27:10, his fastest time this fall. He placed 9th out of a loaded field of 412 runners in the Louisville Classic. 

Women's Cross Country Runner of the Week  
 

Kyanne Williams, Webster University

Williams continues her torrid pace this fall with another weekly award. The senior completed a 5K race in a time of 19:53, finishing 41st in a field of 356 runners. 

Men's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week
 

Aamahn Murvin, Webster University

Capturing his second straight weekly award, Murvin totaled nine points in two games last week. He netted four goals and added one assist in helping the Gorloks to a pair of conference wins. Murvin scored two goals against both Eureka and Principia and added an assist against Principia. Murvin now has 50 career goals, becoming just the second Gorlok to reach that mark.

Men's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week
  Gavin O'Donley, Spalding University

A sophomore keeper O'Donley allowed just one goal in two games last week, finishing with a 0.50 goals-against average. He made six total saves, three in each game, and recorded a shutout against Westminster. O'Donley finished the week with a .857 save percentage. 

Women's Soccer Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Grace Rodgers, Webster University

Rodgers led the way for the Gorloks attack, tallying three goals and two assists in three games last week. She finished with eight points and helped Webster to a pair of wins. Rodgers had two goals and two assists in a win over Eureka and followed with one goal in a win over Principia.

Women's Soccer Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Reaghan Young, Webster University

Young was effective on both ends of the field. The senior defender anchored a Gorlok defense that picked up two shutout wins over conference opponents. She also added two goals and two assists in the win over Eureka and an assist in the win over Principia.

Volleyball Offensive Player of the Week    
 

Mia Bonacorsi, Greenville University

Bonacorsi picks up her first weekly award this season after helping the Panthers to three sweeps over conference opponents. She totaled 31 kills and 25 digs in the three matches, averaging 3.88 kills per set while hitting .329 on the week. Bonacorsi had a high of 12 kills against Spalding and twice reached double-digit kills on the week.

Volleyball Defensive Player of the Week    
 

Chasity Hill, Greenville University

Winning her second straight weekly award Hill averaged 7.33 digs per set in three matches for the Panthers. She totaled 66 digs in the three wins with a high of 28 against Spalding. Hill also added nine assists and four aces.

  • Gianni Estrada, Greenville University (Men's Cross Country) Was the top SLIAC finisher at the Aurora Invitational with a time of 27:13.
  • Karissa Heffernan, Eureka College (Women's Cross Country) Set a new 6K personal record time at the Warrior Invitational.
  • Krystal Kohenskey, Fontbonne University (Women's Soccer) Recorded five assists in two games last week, tying the program career assist mark with 36.
  • Dominic Mueller, Fontbonne University (Men's Cross Country) Cut off nearly three minutes to set a new personal record.
  • Abigail Ratts, Spalding University (Volleyball) Totaled six blocks against Webster, with four solo and two assist blocks.
  • Eryka Wanyonyi, Westminster College (Volleyball) Recorded her 1,000th career kill and finish the week with 34 total kills.
