SLIAC Announces New SAAC Officers

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference is pleased to announce its newest SAAC Officers. SAAC, the Student-Athlete Advisory Committee, is a committee of student-athletes that serves as a communication link between the conference member student-athletes and the athletics administration of the SLIAC member institutions. SAAC members are expected to represent the viewpoints of student-athletes on their respective campuses and to serve as a vital communication link between the Conference and its student-athletes. SAAC members also look to enhance the image of student-athletes both on campus and in the community through engaging in campus and community service projects and serving as positive role models for their peers and younger athletes. The committee also serves as a voice for issues that involve rules, regulations, and policies that affect student-athletes.

Ellie Biedenstein, a volleyball player from Webster University, will serve as the Vice President. A sophomore at Webster has been involved with Webster SAAC group as one of the Gorloks volleyball team representatives. In her spare time, she serves as a club volleyball coach and summer camp leader, as well as works at a local golf course. A sport management major, Biedenstein is looking to gain experience and knowledge by working with a variety of her fellow student-athletes.

Taking over in a Co-President role are Abigail Ratts and Brianna Terpering, a pair of volleyball players from Spalding University. Ratts is a social work major and is finishing up her freshman season at Spalding University. Ratts is interested in becoming more involved with the athletic community and sharing ideas with athletes who have the same mindset. Terpering is also completing her first year at Spalding University. Both are members of the Spalding University SAAC campus group.

The trio will officially begin their new roles in August 2023 and complete their two-year service in the spring of 2025. They will succeed current SLIAC SAAC President Autumn Wilson, a volleyball player at Blackburn College.
