Iowa Wesleyan Celebrates D3 Week

Iowa Wesleyan athletics will celebrate NCAA Division III Week from April 1-April 7th. Division III Week is a positive way to observe and celebrate the impact of athletics and student-athletes on campus and in surrounding communities, per the NCAA.

The athletic department will highlight student-athletes on social media and on campus throughout the week. Highlighted student-athletes were selected by members of the faculty and staff at Iowa Wesleyan.

Tiger fans can catch the IW baseball team in action at home on Tuesday, April 2nd at 5:30pm.

On Saturday, April 6th, Tiger Athletics will host their annual BBQ at the Ballpark where student-athletes and Tiger Nation can enjoy burgers and hot dogs while attending both home baseball (vs Westminster) and softball (vs Fontbonne) games at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex.  Members of Dr. Jonathan Evans' Sports Management class will also have promotions throughout the day.

On Sunday, April 7th, the Tigers will finish up their SLIAC series against Westminster with a double-header.

Iowa Wesleyan student-athletes, along with the campus community and surrounding will also aid in hosting the Southeast Iowa Special Olympic Spring Games on Saturday, April 13th at the Mapleleaf Athletic Complex in Mount Pleasant.  The NCAA Division III Student-Athlete Advisory Committee and Special Olympics have been partners since 2011, and Tiger Athletics is proud to host the event each year.
