Six Student-Athletes Repeat as Athletes of the Week

St. Louis, Mo. - The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) has announced the Players of the Week for the week of April 16-22.

BASEBALL - PITCHER
Webster University's Isaac Behme, a freshman from Harrisburg, Ill., has been named the Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 16-22. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Behme, a left-handed hurler, shutout Spalding University 7-0 in the series opener last week. In 9.0 complete innings on the mound he struck out four batters while allowing only three hits and three walks. Webster swept the three-game series with the Golden Eagles to keep a strong hold on first place in the SLIAC. Behme improved to 4-2 overall and lowered his ERA to 1.94.

BASEBALL - HITTER
Webster University's Alex Kazmierski, a junior from Orland Park, Ill. (Carl Sandburg), has been named the Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 16-22. This marks the second time this season that he has earned the honor.

Kazmierski, an outfielder, hit .471 for the week with eight hits, five RBI, two doubles, one triple and one home run, while also posting a .591 on-base percentage in 22 plate appearances. He went 2-for-2 with one double, one RBI, two runs scored, while also drawing three walks and going 1-of-1 in stolen base attempts in the Gorloks 12-9 victory over nationally ranked #19 Washington University-St. Louis. Kazmierski went 3-for-4 with three RBI, two runs scored, one triple and one home run in Webster's 7-0 win versus Spalding University.

MEN'S GOLF
Webster University's Steve Kinsman, a junior from Archbold, Ohio, has been named the Men's Golfer of the Week for the week of April 16-22.

Kinsman's three-over par 75 helped lead Webster to a third place finish overall and first among five SLIAC teams participating at the James McNaughton Memorial Invitational. Kinsman tied for fifth place out of 68 golfers competing.

SOFTBALL - PITCHER
Webster University's Ashley Meagher, a junior from Dupo, Ill., has been named the Softball Pitcher of the Week for the week of April 16-22.

Meagher pitched a complete game and struck out seven batters en route to handing Fontbonne University their lone loss in conference play thus far. Meagher scattered 10 hits and allowed only one walk and three earned runs in the 6-4 victory. She then one-hit MacMurray College in a complete game 2-1 victory to improve her record in SLIAC play to 5-2 with a 1.29 ERA. Meagher also added four strikeouts versus MacMurray while allowing no walks and one hit.

SOFTBALL - HITTER
Spalding University's Tia McIntosh, a senior from LaGrange, Ky. (Oldham County), has been named the Softball Hitter of the Week for the week of April 16-22.

McIntosh hit .666 over the weekend to lead the Golden Eagles to a sweep over Eureka College. She went 3-for-3 with one run scored in a 9-0 victory in game one. McIntosh added a RBI double in game two as Spalding won 2-1.

MEN'S TRACK
Principia College's Wylie Mangelsdorf, a sophomore from Palmer, Alaska, has been named the Men's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 16-22. It marks the second consecutive week that he has earned the honor.

Mangelsdorf won the 3000m steeplechase at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet last Friday with a time of 9:30.98, beating his own personal best by three seconds. He is currently second on Principia's all-time top 10 list and 40th in the nation.

MEN'S FIELD
Spalding University's Kyle Jenkins, a freshman from Louisville, Ky. (Male), has been named the Men's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of April 16-22. This marks the third consecutive week that he has earned the honor.

Jenkins won both the discus throw and shot put at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet. He posted a mark of 46.75 meters to place first out of 30 competitors in the discus. Jenkins also had a throw of 15.29 meters in the shot put to place first out of 26 competitors, marking his first win in the shot put this season.

WOMEN'S TRACK
Webster University's Jenny Howard, a freshman from Florissant, Mo. (Duchesne), has been named the Women's Track Athlete of the Week for the week of April 16-22. This marks the second time this season that she has earned the honor.

Howard became the first Webster track athlete to win two events in one meet. She placed first in both the 100m and 200m at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet with times of 12.78 and 26.14 seconds respectively.

WOMEN'S FIELD
Principia College's Lyssa Winslow, a freshman from Londonderry, N.H., has been named the Women's Field Athlete of the Week for the week of April 16-22. This marks the second consecutive week and third time overall this season that she has earned the honor.

Winslow posted a distance of 35.81 meters in the discus throw and 10.96 meters in the shot put to place fourth in both events at the Rose-Hulman Twilight Meet.
