SLIAC Update on Fall Seasons

SLIAC Update on Fall Seasons

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference and the nine-member institutions continue to develop institutional plans to return to campus this fall. It is the current intention of the SLIAC to host regularly sponsored SLIAC intercollegiate athletics as well as non-conference opponents on all nine member campuses. The conference, through multiple discussions with pertinent administrative and support individuals as well as following best practices of the NCAA Sports Science Institute, CDC, National Athletic Trainers Association as well as local and state health agencies, has established standard safety protocol and criteria for the screening and daily monitoring of student-athletes and athletic staff for the COVID-19 virus on each campus as well as has established consistent game-day standards for competition.

The SLIAC will continue to observe the ever-changing status of the coronavirus and contingency plans have been discussed and established for any changes that would necessitate an adaptation to the current time schedule and plans for the safe return of intercollegiate athletics to the member campuses. The conference will continue to maintain constant communication among its members during the next several weeks as the initial dates for the return of students and student-athletes to campuses are only a few short weeks away. Each SLIAC member institution will ultimately make the final decision as to the safe return for intercollegiate sport for their respective campus and situation.

Any changes or updates as to conference decisions concerning the safe return to sport will be communicated via the conference office on the SLIAC main webpage.
