Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
 

Thomas Purschke, Fontbonne University

Purschke, an infielder, hit .409 over six games last week; picking up a hit in all but one of the contests. The sophomore finished 9-for-22 at the plate with three doubles and scoring three times. He drove in seven runs and finished with a .458 on-base percentage and a .500 slugging percentage. Purschke tallied a pair of three hit games on the week and had two multiple RBI games. 

 
Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week  
 

Ryan Howell, Fontbonne University

Howell, a senior, picked up a win over Iowa Wesleyan. He worked 7 innings, allowing two earned runs and scattering seven hits. He struck out a career-high 13 batters in the win, walking just two. 

 
Softball Hitter of the Week  
 

Sidney Holtz, Webster University

Holtz, an infielder, hit .667 over four games last week. The freshman finished 10-for-15 at the plate with four doubles. She scored four times and drove in three runs. Holtz had a .933 slugging percentage on the week and notched a double in all four games played. She closed out her week with back-to-back three-hit games in a double header against Blackburn.

 
Softball Pitcher of the Week  
 

Reese Waggoner, Webster University

The freshman pitcher appeared in four games for the Gorloks last week, going 1-0 with one save. She threw 15 innings, allowing just 10 hits while strile striking out seven and walking none. In her lone start on the week she picked up a complete game win over Blackburn, throwing 7 innings and allowing one earned run. She finished the week with a 0.487 earned-run average, making three scoreless outings in relief.

  • Morgan Christner, Iowa Wesleyan University (Softball) Allowed just two hits in a shutout win over Fontbonne, striking out 12.
  • Brooke Laidley, Westminster College (Softball) Hit a home run in both games of a double header sweep of Fontbonne, finishing with six runs batted in.
  • Grace Paez, Fontbonne University (Softball) Hit .483 over eight games, driving in eight. 
  • Abby Richmond, Fontbonne University (Softball) Had a complete game shutout win over Iowa Wesleyan.
