Diamond Sports Baseball Hitter of the Week
 

Derek Shikles, Westminster College

The senior catcher helped the Blue Jays go 4-1 on the week, hitting .600 with 2 home runs and 12 runs batted in. Shikles had multiple hits in all five games on the week including a pair of three hit games. He finished with 10 runs scored on the week, crossing the plate multiple times in four games. Shikles hit a walk-off home run to end a short game in the week's finale. On the week Shikles finished with a .636 on-base percentage and a 1.050 slugging percentage. 

 
Diamond Sports Baseball Pitcher of the Week  
 

Peyton Hood, Spalding University

Hood had a senior day to remember, throwing a no-hitter in his team's 3-0 win over Blackburn. The righty worked a full 9 innings, allowing no hits and three walks. He struck out 12 batters in the complete game victory. 

 
Softball Hitter of the Week  
 

Gracie Morris, Fontbonne University

Morris, a junior infielder, hit .438 over six games for the Griffins last week. She finished 7-of-16 at the plate, picking up a hit in all but one game. Her best game was a 3-for-4 performance in game two against Eureka when she hit two home runs and drove in eight. On the week she totaled seven runs scored and nine RBI with an .875 slugging percentage.

 
Softball Pitcher of the Week  
 

Abby Richmond, Fontbonne University

Richmond went 2-0 in the cirlce last week, compiling a 0.53 earned-run average. She threw a total of 13 1/3 innings, striking out five and allowing just eight hits. Richmond worked 7 innings in game one of a double header against Eureka, limiting them to no earned runs and just three hits. She added a win against Blackburn, throwing 5 innings and allowing just three hits.

 
Men's Field Athlete of the Week  
 

Chris Puduski, Principia College

Puduski had a record setting day at the John Greer Invitational. The senior broke his own school record in the hammer throw with a distance of 187'5". That was the second best throw at the event and the 6th best among NCAA Division III throwers this season.

 
Men's Track Athlete of the Week  
 

Carson Ratanan, Greenville University

The sophomore picked up a pair of 1st place showings at the Big Blue Invitational. Rantanen took first in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.76 seconds, ranking him in the top 20 in D3 this season. He also took top honors in the 200-meters with a time of 22.14 seconds.

 
Women's Field Athlete of the Week  
   

Avylina Powel-Qualo

Powel-Qualo set a personal record in the high jump, with a height of 5'7". That was good for a 1st place finish at the Truman State Twilight Meet. That mark is also the 4th best in Division III this spring.

 
Women's Track Athlete of the Week  
 

Danielle Schultz, Webster University

Schultz, a sophomore, picked up a 2nd place finish in the 800 meter race with a time of 2:22. She used a big second lap in the race to push her to the finish. Schultz also ran a leg in the 4x400 relay for the Gorloks.

  • Andrew Boessen, Westminster College (Baseball) Threw 9 innings, striking out 11 and allowing no earned runs in a win.
  • Abby Burroughs, Webster University (Softball) Went 5-for-9 with a home run and three RBI in a double header sweep of Westminster.
  • Marcus Collins, Spalding University (Baseball) Hit .462 in four wins for the Golden Eagles, driving in six.
  • Kyler Kent, Webster University (Baseball) Had home runs in both games of a double header against Fontbonne.
  • Matt Mulhearn, Webster University (Baseball) Picked up an 8 inning win, striking out 11.
  • DeAndre White, Westminster College (Track and Field) Set a personal record with a mark of 41'9" in the shot put.
