Diversity and Inclusion Feature: Women in Officiating

The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recently sat down with Missy Brooks, a women's basketball official and assignor of officials, to discuss to her career, coming up through the ranks of officiating as a woman, and how to further engage others in joining the officiating world.

This interview is part of an ongoing mission of promoting Diversity and Inclusion. It is the SLIAC's mission to enhance transformational growth opportunities for student-athletes, coaches, and administrators. Our aim is to help educate and support a diverse, equitable, and inclusive community that is respectful, safe, and open to all. The SLIAC is also proud to support the recent strategic plan for officiating announced by the D3 Commissioner's Association. The strategic plan centers on the elevation of officiating as a respected and an integral component of the Division III athletics experience through a cross-divisional commitment to broad-based and diverse recruitment and comprehensive education and retention strategies.
