Greenville, Webster Tied at Top of SLIAC All-Sports Trophy Race
It figures to be a fun spring in the St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference with Greenville University and Webster University tied for first place in the updated SLIAC All-Sports Trophy standings. Both schools have totaled 80 points after the completion of the fall and winter sports seasons. Webster gained 4.5 points over the winter season to draw even with Greenville.
Greenville picked up 34.5 points during the winter seasons with all four programs finishing in the top three either in the standings or championships. The Panthers won the Men's Indoor Track and Field Championship, accounting for 10 of their points and took second on the women's side. They also tied for second place in Men's Basketball and tied for 3rd in Women's Basketball.
Webster captured three conference titles over the winter; winning the Women's Indoor Track and Field Championship and coming in first place in both Men's and Women's Basketball. Their championships helped erase their 4.5 point deficit from the fall standings to push them into a tie for first place entering the final sports season.
Fontbonne University moved up one spot from the fall standings and currently sits in third place with 62 points. The Griffins had strong showings from both of their basketball teams, who each advanced to the post-season by finishing in the top four of the regular season standings.
Spalding University is 4th with 56 points and is followed by Principia College with 47 points. They are followed by Westminster College, Iowa Wesleyan University, Blackburn College, MacMurray College, and Eureka College. Affiliate members Grinnell College, Illinois College, Lake Forest College, Monmouth College, and Knox College (who all play as members in Men's and Women's Golf) make up the remainder of the standings.
