Iowa Wesleyan in Front of Service Challenge

In the annual SLIAC/SAAC Challenge, Iowa Wesleyan University is the early leader. The Tigers totaled 17,140 points during the fall to hold the lead among the ten conference member schools. Iowa Wesleyan won the overall award last year for the first time in program history, ending a five-year reign by MacMurray College. MacMurray College sits in second place with 12,639 points. 

Fontbonne University totaled 9,620 points this fall, already surpassing their point total from all of last year. Principia College recorded 7,775 points with many coming from working with the Boys and Girls Club of Alton. Westminster College racked up 2,170 points while Blackburn College also passed their point total from last year, totaling 1,644.5 points this fall. 

In all the ten member schools combined for 52,104.5 points this fall. The SLIAC/SAAC Service Award was established in 2013 with the goal of recognizing an institution that went above and beyond in giving back to their community. In 2016 the SLIAC expanded the award criteria to include community service projects, collections (food and clothing), and donations. Full criteria and the point system is listed below:
