Win At Blackburn Lifts Fontbonne As Haring Notches Record

Fontbonne University dominated the Beavers to a 40-point victory this afternoon. The 79-39 win puts the Griffins 10-10 overall and lifts them to 6-5 in conference while the Beavers remain winless on the season.

In the win, senior Emmie Haring broke her own single season assist record. She tallied 10 assists to give her 159 assists this year. The NCAA Division III leader in total assists now owns the top three single season assist records for Fontbonne's program and averages 8.0 assists per game. She recorded 149 assists her sophomore season and 145 assists last year.

Haring also scored a season-high 23 points on 9-of-15 including four three-pointers to go along with her seven steals and double-double. Fellow senior Lauren Willis netted a career-high 16 points on 7-of-10 shooting and added three assists. Kaitlynn Walker was the other Griffin with double-digit points, accumulating 10 points.

The Griffins shot 58.2% in the field, a season-high, and 46.7% from the arc. Fontbonne converted 36 points from Blackburn's 25 turnovers.

Fontbonne is at home next week on Wednesday and Saturday in pivotal games as they vye for a SLIAC Tournament spot. The Griffins host Greenville at 6 p.m. on Wednesday.
