The St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference recently held a symposium, welcoming student-athletes from around the conference as a way of preparing them to move from the playing field to the professional world.....MORE
Blackburn Baseball Sports New Sod Field (November 23, 2015)
The Baseball Field at Blackburn College received a newly sodded infield on Thursday, November 5. Blackburn players and coaches began the project a little bit after 8 a.m. and by 12:30 the infield was replaced as well as the foul areas in front of the 1st base dugout as well as the area behind home plate.....MORE
MacMurray Takes Fall Canned Food Drive Competition (November 24, 2015)
Two time defending award winner MacMurray College is off to another strong start in the annual St. Louis Intercollegiate Athletic Conference (SLIAC) Canned Food Drive competition, collecting over 800 canned food items this fall.....MORE

AROUND THE SLIAC
Blackburn men's basketball senior Henry Hicks was named to the Lon Varnell Classic All-Tournament team this past weekend. The forward scored 22 points in the Beavers two games in the tournament including a 15 point effort against Sewanee on Saturday. Hicks is currently averaging 7.0 points and 1.8 rebounds per game this season. |
The Eureka men's basketball team jumped up a couple of levels and squared off against Division I foe Northern Illinois last week, falling 100-52. The Huskies jumped out to a 12-0 lead at the start of the game before Greg Kent put the Red Devils on the board. Eureka trailed 58-25 at halftime and were led by freshman Hank Thomas' 13 points. |
The Fontbonne men's basketball team took an early season challenge when they hosted #1 ranked Augustana College on Tuesday night. Augustana proved to be too much however, walking away with an 80-57 win. The Griffins trailed by just two with 13:13 remaining in the first half before the Vikings went on a 21-12 run to take control. Jeff Smith led Fontbonne with nine points and five rebounds. |
The Greenville women's basketball team is off to a fast start this season, with a 3-1 overall record. The Panthers latest win came against Lincoln Christian on Tuesday by the score of 74-37. Three Panthers scored in double figures with Taylor Paulin leading the way with 17 points. Paulin is leading the team in scoring this season at 16.8 points per game and leads the conference in three pointers with 15 this season. |

The MacMurray College men's soccer team recently held their awards banquet, recognizing players during Coach John Mansholt's first season at the helm. Miles Money was named MVP and received the Mac Award for exemplifying core values of MacMurray. Jacob Lee was named Most Valuable Defender and received the Highlander Award for having a positive impact off the field and in the classroom. Jayger Erikson took home Rookie of the Year honors and Rudy Hernandez received the Brave Heart Award. |
Principia junior Adaku Anumu was named the SLIAC Men's Basketball Player of the Week this week after helping the Panthers to a 3-0 start to the season. Anumu led his team in scoring in all three games, averaging 23.7 points per game. He scored a career high 28 points in a win over Lincoln Christian and shot 59.5 percent from the field on the week. |

The Webster women's basketball team tipped of their season hosting the Cavallo Tip-Off Tournament last weekend; welcoming Spalding University, Illinois Institute of Technology, and Aurora University. The Gorloks won their opener 92-30, netting the fourth most points in program history. Chelsea Holman led Webster with 14 points while Ashley Brooks added 13 points. |
Westminster junior Krista Armontrout was named the SLIAC Women's Basketball Player of the Week after averaging a double-double over two games last week. Armontrout averaged 19.5 points and 11.5 rebounds over her team's two wins, scoring a high of 21 points in a win over Millikin. She shot 54.8 percent from the field and added 7 assists and 5 steals. |
