Pair of Tigers Named USCAA Player of the Week

The United States Collegiate Athletic Conference has released their Player of the Week awards for the week of January 12, 2016.  Iowa Wesleyan had representatives from both the men's and women's team earn the honors for their performances in the past week.

Rachel Williams (SR/Phoenix, AZ) was selected USCAA Division I Player of the Week after helping the Tigers improve to 11-2 on the season and 6-0 in SLIAC play. It is her second time this season receiving player of the week honors.  In three games, Williams averaged 19 points and five assists, including two 20 point games where she scored 22 against Principia and 25 against Eureka.

Chris Fowler (SR/Victorville, CA) was named USCAA Division I Player of the Week after recording two double-doubles and adding another 20 point game along the way.  In the win against Principia, Fowler netted 20 points and added six assists and six steals.  He followed that up by nearly recording a triple-double, finishing with 18 points, 10 assists, and nine rebounds.  The final game of the week, Fowler had 22 points, 12 rebounds, and seven assists.  The men's basketball team is now 9-4 on the season and 5-1 in conference play.

Iowa Wesleyan will play their next game on January 13, 2016.  They will be on the road at Blackburn College with the women's game tipping off at 6 p.m.. and the men's game following at 8 p.m..
