Fontbonne Women's Relay Sets School Mark in Spring Opener
The Fontbonne University track and field team opened their 2016 outdoor season at the Saint Louis University Billiken Outdoor Kickoff and saw their women's 4x100 relay team set a new school record.
The 4x100 team of Savannah Davis, Brianna Burnett, Taylor McGowen, and Gabi Cruts broke the school record and finished 4th with a time of 54.19 seconds. Cruts continued the scoring for the Griffins picking up three points when she finished 6th in the 100m dash. Also picking up points was Jennie Stare on Friday night, placing 7th in the javelin for two points.
For the first meet of outdoor season, the team performed as expected and will take a week off with spring break coming up before they return to competition at the Washington University Invitational the first weekend of April.
